What Makes A George Foreman Grill So Likeable?
When I purchase something online, I take it very seriously. I spent hours researching the best grills on the
market. I found that the George Foreman GRP90WGR had exactly the features that I needed...
- It has interchangeable cooking surfaces
- It prepares a variety of foods
- It's easy to clean
- It's simple to use
The Power Of Interchangeable Cooking Surfaces
One of the things that immediately caught my eye with the George Foreman G5 grill was something that I have
never seen before on an indoor grill. The package comes with five interchangeable grilling plates that you can
switch out depending on what you feel like cooking at the time. By using these interchangeable grill plates, your
George Foreman grill can become a wafflemaker, panini press, indoor grill, oven, or a griddle. This makes it
extremely easy to prepare the food exactly how you would like.
Switching out the plates is easy. You just snap one off, and snap in another. They do not take up much room so
they are easy to store. This feature is something that I have never seen before and it is a very nice addition.
The George Foreman GRP90WGR Grill Prepares A Variety Of Different
Because of the interchangeable cooking plates, you can use this George Foreman grill to prepare almost any kind
of food that you can think of. The grilling surface is perfect for preparing hamburgers, steaks or chicken breasts
to mention just a few. If you use the wafflemaker surface, it creates perfect waffles that slip right off of the
non-stick surface. They can be made with less butter than other wafflemakers and come out perfect every time.
You can use the griddle surface to prepare bacon and pancakes for your breakfast. The included recipe book tells
you how you can use the George Foreman to create muffins, cookies, and even scrambled eggs.
Because the grill has several different grill plates, it is honestly one of the most versatile indoor grills
you'll find. If you are like me, then your kitchen is probably full of little appliances that are all used for
different purposes. For instance, I have a panini maker, wafflemaker, a huge griddle, and of course I also have my
old George Foreman grill. This new grill replaces all of them. That means I can take all of those little appliances
off my counter and utilize that extra space.
Finally A George Foreman Grill That Is Easy To Clean
This is arguably one of the best things about this electric indoor grill - the cooking surfaces of the George
Foreman GRP90WGR G5 grill are dishwasher safe! For years, my biggest gripe about George Foreman grills has been how
hard they are to clean. I am not the only one who thinks this either. I have read hundreds of customer reviews
about tons of indoor grills, and the one biggest complaint is that they are often difficult to clean.
The GRP90WGR has done a good job of making this less of an issue. When you are done using the grill, cleanup is
a snap - literally. Since the grill plates are interchangeable, you can just snap them off and put them in the
dishwasher. There is no sticky, messy, or complex cleanup involved. While I was reading reviews written by owners
of this grill, this is the feature that everyone seemed to love the most - and I tend to agree with them.
Easy To Use - Just Like You Would Expect
George Foreman grills are known for being some of the easiest-to-use appliances around. You do not need a MS
degree in cooking in order to create great tasting meals for you and your entire family. The GRP90WGR is no
different. You simply preheat the grill by turning the dial to the desired temperature or setting, then put your
food on the surface.
This grill may even be easier to use since you can prepare many different kinds of food with it. If you ever
need to move the grill while it is turned on, you can feel safe using the handles that stay cool to the touch no
matter how hot the cooking surface is.
Plus, it has the ability to "knock out the fat" just like any other George Foreman grill. The grilling surface
has raised bumps which allowed the oil, grease, and fat to fall down into a drip cup below - the drip cup is also
In addition, this grill has a 'tilt' mechanism that allows you to cook with a level surface, or tilt the grill
down so that fats run down and into the drip pan. This way you do not have the fats just sitting on the grill and
in your food. It's a nice feature that does its job well.
Is There A Warranty?
Just like other George Foreman grills, the GRP90WGR carries a one year limited warranty against any defects in
materials or craftsmanship.
Are There Any Complaints About This Indoor Grill?
Like I mentioned before, I spent a lot of time reading reviews and comments that have been made by real users of
this particular indoor grill. Overall, they were overwhelmingly positive. However it is almost impossible for any
product to have zero complaints. I did read about a few customers who had problems with the non-stick coating.
After a few years of use, a couple of customers complained that the non-stick coating on the grilling plates was
beginning to come off.
However, if you clean the surfaces correctly, this should never be a problem. Before you put the plates into the
dishwasher, you should let the grill cool down a bit, and then wipe it down with a wet paper towel or even some wet
newspaper. This will get the bulk of the grime and leftover food off of them. Then, you can place them in your
dishwasher, or wash them with a sponge and soapy water, and you should not have any worries that the non-stick
coating will come off.
