Can I Cook On My Contact Grill With The Lid Open?
Do you have a new George Foreman grill or other model of an indoor contact grill and been wondering if you can cook on it with the lid open? Actually, quite a few people ask this question.
There is nothing wrong at all with cooking on your contact grill with the lid open. The only issue is being very careful in not bumping into or touching the top grill plate. I know some who have said they can grill corn much better without closing the lid.
Other than that, I can't see any reasons for not wanting to close the lid on your grill. Your best bet, if you want to have an open grill, is to fold it open if you have that option with your current grill, or purchase one like the Cuisinart GR-4N Griddler which has multiple grilling options.
